This week for chapter challenge I drew Dribble the turtle.I found drawing the shape of the turle hard because I had never drew a turtle before.I found colouring the water easy becaouse it was a big space.
A group of turtles is called a nest.
The scales on a tutle is called scutes.
Turtles are reptiles because they are cold blooeded and they lay eggs.
Turtles also have a lower shell called a plastron.
Many turtle species (not all) can hide their heads inside their shells when attacked by predators.
There are 356 species of turtles in the world.
Only sea turtles cant tuck there head in to there body.
I just assumed, that a group of turtles and tortoises would be called the same. But they are not, turtles are are a nest, and tortoises are a creep. Thanks for the turtle facts Ryan
ReplyDeleteI am loving your facts about turtles Ryan. I didn't know that only sea turtles can tuck their heads inside their shells. I thought all turtles could do this. Thanks for teaching me something. I love to see you doing some great learning at home. Keep it up!
